Pictures of Van

Below you'll find pictures of me in rough chronological order. If you want a general size estimation, I'm about 5'8" on a good day and 135 lbs. (172 cm, 61 kg). Watch the pictures as I grow taller, but never quite tall enough. Watch through high school as I start to fill out, but never achieve that "big and strong" they always promised me. See the hairline evolve! You'll be on the edge of your seat for every single snapshot.

2006 : Here, I've stopped all that traveling and started to settle down. This is a time of domestic life, establishing stronger connections with friends, a long-term relationship and living a somewhat "normal" life. Oh, and I finally went short with the hair and started working on my body instead of just complaining about it.

2004 - 2005 : These two years are marked by extensive travel with my new job, and my starting to build a life in Washington. In two years, I went to 20 or so countries for work, met tons of fascinating people, rebuilt my bank account and had a lifetime of new experiences packed into a short period. This period is also marked by lots of self-pics in mirrors, which I say will become a retro look in 20 years.

2001 - 2003 : This was a major learning experience for me. I graduated college, became unemployed for a while, introduced myself to international travel, had a few unexpected jobs and played in a drum circle. My finances were devastated, I went through a long period of seclusion (no photos from there), and I lost touch with most of my friends. In this time period, I bet the last of what little I had (financially, socially and emotionally) to go for broke, and it paid off. Looking back, I can only describe these years as melancholy. Oh, and I started losing my hair, and was so self-conscious about it that you'll see me wearing a hat a lot.

1996 - 2000 : Here, I graduated high school and went through most of college. This was definitely a stretch of growth. My future was bright until the dot-com bust. I finally found social belonging in college and had a great on-campus job.

Pre-1996 : I was a fat baby with a full head of curly hair. The hair turned straight when I was about 3, to a perfect texture. Then it went to a kinky mess once I hit puberty. Most of this time was spent waiting for 1997, when I would graduate high school. Not much else to say here.
