| I've never been
much into astrology, but you know, some people want to know my sign. Like in a
crowded bar, some amazing hottie walks up to me and says, "Hey baby, what's
your sign?" OK, so that never happened. But if it did, I could just give
her this URL. Any comments I have are [bold]. |

Astrology Sign (sun): Sagittarius Your path of soul development in this lifetime involves seeking and seeing the big picture, and your ability to intuitively perceive the interconnectedness of things in a larger pattern. [Om..... Om.... Om....] You are driven from within to get an overview, and search for universal laws and principles, Van, whether this is expressed as a compelling urge to travel and see the world, a keen interest in religion, philosophy, or other systems which purport to explain "how it all fits together", or simply a restless urge to experience as much of life as you can, (in order to get as much of the whole picture as possible). [Yep, that's me.] This propensity to see things as a whole rather than focusing on the component parts, is one of your gifts. An example of this might be an interest in "wholistic" medicine, which acknowledges the interconnection of spirit, mind, and body, and treats the whole person rather than focusing on one diseased part of the anatomy. [Yes.... let's all now go hug some trees and sing Kumbaiya] Or, perhaps, being able to see society as a whole, and thus what future directions or trends are likely. At the least, Van, it enables you to keep a sense of perspective and a sense of humor when "little things" go awry. Being innately attuned to a larger framework and feeling yourself to be a part of it gives you a sense of confidence, and faith that "everything will be all right in the long run". It also inclines you to take risks, to gamble, to try your luck, because instinctively you know that there is something larger than yourself buoying you up (whether or not you conceptualize it as life or God or something else). This gives you a certain leeway to play with life, to take chances. [Did any of that actually say anything?] At times, however, you can be so enamored of your abstract vision, your view of the whole, your intuitive sense of possibilities and potentials, that you miss what is right in front of you, including the actual work involved in realizing that vision, or perhaps the real people that might be effected. [Oh, I can use that! "You see, Officer, I hit them because...."] Your astuteness in the realm of understanding principles and having the broad view is sometimes matched by your ineptness and insensitivity when it comes to understanding and relating to individual people. You tend to invest much in your belief system, your convictions, your philosophy, and your ideals. However, practicing what you preach, doing something with your vision, and tempering your candor and truthfulness with compassion for peoples limitations, is your challenge. You also need to guard against a certain laziness or sloppiness regarding details, taking the easy way, or depending too much on luck. [Hey! A lazy person wouldn't still be reading this far.] Your drive for enlarging your horizons and expanding your understanding of life is often accompanied by a great need for personal freedom and space, and a horror of being trapped, limited, fenced in, or confined in any way at all. [True dat.] There is something spirited and free and untameable in you, Van, and for you to be happiest you must feel that there is some adventure in your life, opportunities to go places (literal or otherwise) that you have never gone before. The unknown, the untried, the yet-to-be explored beckons you, and being tethered to a routine or having to stay within certain known boundaries (budget, location, diet, curriculum, whatever) goes against your grain. [Mmmmm hmmmm. Can I hear an "Amen?"] You can discipline yourself, but discipline that is imposed is hard for you to accept. [I'd much rather you discipline me, big boy. Oh, did I say that out loud?] Though often times you seem to be "luckier" than most people, self-discipline is a crucial key to your success, otherwise, you can easily get side-tracked from realizing your goals in life by all of the other interesting possibilities, and your curiosity about the road not taken. At your worst, you will procrastinate, and dream about all of the glorious things you will do in the future, and fanaticize about "how wonderful it will be" without attempting to bring any of these dreams to fruition. [Or just sit around and type pointless comments into a meaningless web page that nobody reads.] Behind this is a fear that the "real-thing" will not be as grand as the dream, and that your talent or potential is not as great as you imagine. However, you may well be a late bloomer in life. After having a wide variety of experiences and numerous adventures, you are more apt to settle down and give your all to a single meaningful pursuit. "Meaning" is the key word here. Deep within, and whether or not you think of yourself in this way, Van, your life is really about a quest for meaning and this is what fuels your restlessness and your curiosity. Discovering the meaning behind the lesson, the purpose and the opportunity for growth is ultimately your true focus in this lifetime and bringing that meaning into fuller expression in the world you share with others. I was then offered the chance to buy an extended report for a mere $14.95, but I declined. |
Chinese Astrology Sign: Horse Thank goodness for open spaces, because the Horse needs plenty of room to roam! Energetic, good with money and very fond of travel, Horses are the nomads of the Chinese Zodiac, roaming from one place or project to the next. [Yep, that's me] All of this Sign's incessant activity and searching may be to satisfy a deep-rooted desire to fit in. Paradoxically, Horses feel a simultaneous yearning for independence and freedom. [That's also me.... but.... who's not like that?] Horses crave love and intimacy, which is a double-edged sword since it often leads them to feel trapped. [Oh yes] Love connections tend to come easily to Horses, since they exude the kind of raw sex appeal that is a magnet to others. [Ummm.... you can be the judge of that] This Sign tends to come on very strong in the beginning of the relationship, having an almost innate sense of romance and seduction. [Well, I do flirt a lot.... how about if I buy you a drink so we can talk about it alone?] Horses are seducers in general; check out any A-list party and you're bound to find the Horse in attendance. [Somebody needs to hook me up with these horses] This Sign possesses a sharp wit and a scintillating presence; it really knows how to work a crowd. Surprisingly, Horses tend to feel a bit inferior to their peers, a misconception that causes them to drift from group to group out of an irrational fear of being exposed as a fraud. An impatient streak can lead Horses to be less than sensitive to others' needs. These colts would rather take a situation firmly in hand as opposed to waiting for others to weigh in or come to terms with it. [And leave them crying on a corner, under a lone street lamp for warmth. I'm one cruel bastard.] The lone wolf inside the Horse can at times push others away, but this also makes this Sign stronger and is a key to its success. Horses are self-reliant and, though they might lose interest fast in a tedious, nine-to-five day job, are willing to do the work necessary to get ahead. [Sixteen tons and what do you get....] Horses tend not to look much at the big picture; instead they just follow their whims, which can result in a trail of prematurely ended relationships, jobs, projects and so on. [Hey! Didn't the other side just say I paid attention to the big picture, not the details? I guess the East and West will never agree.] This Sign really knows how to motivate others, though, and get a lot accomplished. Once they find some peace within themselves, they can curb their wandering tendencies and learn to appreciate what's in their own backyard. [I don't have a backyard like all those rich A-list horses. Damn you.] |
