Louisiana is bigger than it looks.... it just appears smaller because it's next to Texas. Honest!

I'm the first in line. Ha! Get it? First line... ahh, nevermind.
Shown here is a map of these fifty United States, with a label pointing to Baton Rouge, my city of residence. The metro area of Baton Rouge, the state capital of Louisiana, contains about half a million people. The closest city international readers may have heard of is New Orleans, a little over an hour drive away to the south.
Don't quit your day job.

Baton Rouge state capitol
The State Capitol in Baton Rouge is shown here. It's the tallest state capitol building in the United States, which many allege has something to do with certain governors compensating for something. I prefer to think of it as a giant finger to everybody who makes fun of the state.
Baton Rouge old state capitol
Here you see the old state capitol building in Baton Rouge, a blocky castle-like structure on the Mississippi River. Mark Twain once called it the ugliest building on the Mississippi.

Quirky lines. Everybody knows a bar is the way to go. Look at me! I'm flashy! I mean.... if you want. I don't care.
