AHHH! IT'S BILLY! RUN!Billy the Bartender is an amazing guy. Last I heard, he was stationed at the Mercure at the foot of the Eiffel tower, working a night shift in the hotel bar. Billy turned out to be one of the most interesting sights in Paris, and certainly the best thing the hotel had going for it. Told by countless patrons that he should be a stand-up comedian, this isn't the first time Billy was published on the web. He says that even before I met him, people have come into the bar and asked, "Are you Billy the Bartender?" Apparently, he's been written about in travelogues, journals, and is somewhat world-renowned. I seized the opportunity and took some pictures of Billy, for which he graciously posed.

I don't know if Billy will ever read this. But Billy, if you're there, drop me a line and let me know how you're doing!

Long live the famous Billy the bartender. You can see some pictures of him in my Europe 2000 Photo Album.
